Thomas Jones, Jr. is a partner over Practice Growth and Wealth Solutions at McConnell Jones Lanier & Murphy LLP, one of the largest accounting and consulting firms in Houston, Texas and the third largest African-American owned firm in the country.
Mr. Jones started his career with Ernst & Young before going on to work within the Treasury Division of Chase Bank. In 1996 Mr. Jones connected with Wayne McConnell to establish the CPA firm of McConnell & Jones LLP, and in 1999 the firm merged with Empirical Management Services to form the professional service firm of McConnell Jones Lanier & Murphy LLP.
With more than 35 years of experience in investment and financial management, Mr. Jones is responsible for providing the firm's clientele with access to a complete range of personal and confidential financial services including tax planning, retirement and estate planning services. Additionally, Mr. Jones works directly with entrepreneurs and small business owners to provide financial solutions that promote long-term business success.
Mr. Jones is a founding board member of the Spirit of Texas Bank; chairs the audit committee and is a member of the senior loan committee. Additionally, Mr. Jones serves as Vice Chairman of the Florida A&M University Foundation, and is the past Chairman of the Board of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau.
